No. 1 coating resin with bubble-free curing

Our epoxy resins self-vent at room temperature. This means that any air bubbles created by mixing and pouring will disappear on their own before the epoxy cures. You do not need a heat gun to remove the bubbles. This means there is no risk of soot stains on your epoxy resin.

Instructions for Use – Ammonit – 5 Colours

Primer

  1. We recommend a working temperature of approx. 20°C.
  2. The surface should be dust-free, clean, and even. Level out holes, unevenness, and slopes in advance with levelling compound.
  3. Always start with our EPOXY PRIMER (primer).
  4. Pour the material into a paint tray after mixing.
  5. Roll the material onto the desired surface with a paint roller.
  6. Allow the primer to dry (approx. 8-12 hours).

Main Coat

  1. Use our ECO epoxy resin system (resin + hardener) for the main coating.
  2. Start by planning the quantity of resin (A) and hardener (B) that will be used for each colour. To achieve a result like on our site, plan: 23,75% DARK BROWN, 23,75% BRONZE RED, 23,75% BRONZE BROWN, 23,75% PEARL WHITE, 5% SIGNAL WHITE.
  3. To acchieve the effects, you need to proceed with multiple mixtures. Watch the instructional video and plan the colours you will use for each mixture.
  4. Mix some clear resin (A) with hardener (B) in a mixing ratio of 2:1 by weight (e.g., 1kg A + 0.5kg B).
  5. Pour the clear resin-hardener mixture into several cups and colour each cup with one of the colours you want to use in this mixture. We recommend a colour proportion of about 1.5% for pigments, e.g., 15g of pigment for 1kg of resin + hardener and about 1% for colour pastes, e.g., 10g of color paste for 1kg of resin + hardener.
  6. Pour the pre-mixed colours into a large cup as shown in the instructional video. Do not re-mix the colours once they are poured into the same cup.
  7. Pour the cup containing all the colours onto the surface to be covered. Repeat steps 3 to 5 until the resin and hardener have been completely used.
  8. The main coating can be walked on after approx. 20 hours and is completely chemically cured after approx. 7 days.

Pro Tip: Mix in small quantities in large mixing cups. The resin can overheat and quickly harden in the cups. It is better to make several small mixes in large cups.

Info: Epoxy resin is sensitive to any kind of moisture during curing (risk of amine blush formation, i.e. white patches in the top layer). For this reason, we recommend that you avoid any contact between water and the epoxy until it has cured completely (at least 7 days). For thin layers, cold temperatures (ambient, substrate, and resin temperatures below 20°C) and increased humidity, the time until the epoxy resin is fully cured may be extended.

Consumption volumes

Determine the required amount of resin needed with the help of our epoxy resin “Epoxy calculator” on this product page.

Recommended thicknesses when coating floors and other surfaces

  • Overall coating (primer + main coating): approx. 1.9kg/sqm for layer thicknesses of 1.7mm
  • Primer: approx. 0.2kg/sqm for layer thickness of 0.2-0.3mm
  • Main layer: approx. 1.65kg/sqm for layer thicknesses of 1.5mm
